I Am your best defense.

God’s answer:

John spoke up. 'Master,' he said, 'we saw someone driving out devils in your name, and because he is not with us we tried to stop him.'

But Jesus said to him, 'You must not stop him: anyone who is not against you is for you. (John 9:49-50)

Your faith is your strength

Question: Then what about this biblical verse you led me to. Why were they unable to drive out demons in your name?

Then some itinerant Jewish exorcists tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those with evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”

When the seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish high priest, tried to do this, the evil spirit said to them in reply, “Jesus I recognize, Paul I know, but who

are you?”

The person with the evil spirit then sprang at them and subdued them all. He so overpowered them that they fled naked and wounded from that house. (Acts 19:14-16)

God’s answer:

They did not believe in Me.
I was some kind of incantation.

Question: God why did you lead me to this story?

God’s answer:

Thou shalt not take the name of the
Lord thy God in vain

Meaning: The name of Jesus should never be used as part of pagan mysticism rituals or practices but invoked in faith.

Don’t make a deal with demons.
Let Me deal with them.
